animal trade

I have read about the outcomes of the UN Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, and i was aghast . The proposal to ban all international trade of the Atlantic Bluefin tunas was rejected, alongside with rejection of calling to stop international trade of polar bear parts, exotic corals, sharks and lots more. This shows that, according to a Singapore newspaper, that "when it comes to commercially valuable marine species, protection has its limit" (The Straits Time, March 27, 2010).
Human beings are undeniably selfish. To what extent of harms had the human being done to exploit the environment and things that would reap benefits?

Examples can be seen from countries like Japan who strongly insist on their whaling projects. We have another country whose ministers who are against the ban on seals meat.
